    You can install the theme first on the staging site for your preparations. If its working good, install it on your production site next.

    WIll my child theme created in staging be transferred live when I take the staging site to live?

    WP Staging does not handle migrating from staging to live automatically, so you have to copy the theme files manually via FTP to your production site and enable it than there.
