    We host a site at FlyWheel (https://app.getflywheel.com/).

    we are getting the following error after installing WPStaging plugin

    WP Staging Folder Permission error: /wordpress/ is not write and/or readable.
    Check if the folder /wordpress/ is writeable by php user www-data or www-data . File permissions should be chmod 755 or 777.

    FlyWheel support has said;

    Our core files are locked down as part of our security, this includes /wordpress/

    We would need more details about what this plugin is trying to access and why. If there is a code that needs to be added to the server it may be something we can add from our end.

    Any help is appreciated

    Hello @ywharton

    WP Staging wants to create a subfolder within the WordPress root folder. The subfolder will get the name of the staging site.

    So for a workaround you could ask flywheel to create an empty subfolder there with permissions 755. Then create a new staging site with the exact same name and wp staging will be able to copy the clone into that folder without touching any of the wordpress core folders.

    Let me know how it goes.

    René
