WordPress will not install on your desktop without installing something else first.

Tamsnively, I think you mean downloaded instead of installed? There are free programs that will unzip files for you like 7-Zip.
Like others mentioned already, it doesn’t seem like you’ve actually installed wordpress. If you can describe what it is that you have done and what it is that you want to achieve, we could help you further.
