Where did you get this theme from?

Downloaded it from here WP.org
That certainly doesn’t sound right, themes can’t even be uploaded to the directory here without a style.css file.
What is the exact URL that you got your theme from? I can’t find any in the theme directory titled either “myarcadeblog” or “my arcade blog”.

Sorry, just dbl checked
It’s from https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/myarcadeblog/
BUT it’s a plugin? NOT a theme?
I’m a bit new at all this!
Oh, was it http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/myarcadeblog/ ?
That’s a plugin, not a theme.
Ah, yes, exactly. That’s a plugin which you install via the Plugins section of your blog’s Dashboard. 🙂

Yes I’m afraid it was!
But I did try Tirqui earlier and got the same response.
That is a theme, got it from the official site AND it contains a style.css file but I got the same message.
Been on this all day and still no running games theme.
What is the URL you get that theme from?
Ah, that’s a mess. They included the plugins and the theme in the same zip file, WordPress can’t install it directly. You’ll need to install that theme manually: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Using_Themes#Adding_New_Themes_Manually_.28FTP.29
Also, we generally can only support themes from https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/ here.
One more point, if you want to have a game-themed blog, you don’t need a game-themed theme. Just find a theme you like and launch your game site around that. 🙂

You mean like theme twenty eleven and launch a game site around that??
That sounds like it needs much technical expertise.
I’ve been searching and reading but not found a guide to how to set up a simple game site.
Much appreciate if you know where I can get some info on doing that.
I’ve been searching and reading but not found a guide to how to set up a simple game site.
Well, that depends on what you mean by “simple game site.”
For example, I could launch a blog right now with Twenty Eleven as the theme, and start publishing posts regarding XBox, PlayStation, Wii, PC, and Mac gaming news. As far as I’m concerned, that would be a simple game site. 🙂

I’m trying to make something where kids can click on the game and play it.
Simple (flash, I think) games for kids, like puzzles, educational games, simple car racing games for boys, hairstyling for girls.
Very simple games for pre-school to 10 year old kids.
Simple, engaging and educational.
Ah, ok, that you will probably need a specialized theme or plugin for. 🙂
