Your Jetpack settings and your site settings may be set to use different timezones.
Could you go to Settings > General in your dashboard, and update your timezone settings? Once you click the Save button, could you try to post by email again?
If you still experience issues, could you let me know your site URL, as well as your timezone settings?
If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply (I apologize for not answering for a whole month. Long story short, emergency came up).
This has not seemed to help. My website is http://www.scottybark.com/ and I currently have my time zone set to New York. Does it matter that that is not my host’s time zone (I’m not quite sure where their data center is)?

That shouldn’t be a problem, no.
Could you try the following:
- Go to Posts > All Posts in your dashboard
- Click on one of your posts
- Make a change, and click Update
- Check the time that appears in the bottom right corner of the post editor:
http://i.wpne.ws/SObX Does it display the right time?
Thanks!

Tried it AND AN odd thing happened. It’s 4 minutes below what time it is on my phone (which I hope is right). I’m assuming that might be the problem.
It could indeed be what’s causing the problem. Could you contact your hosting provider, and ask them to check the time configuration of your server?

According to them (and I did log into the server and check with the date and date -u command), the server time is correct on the server (both local and UTC). So I’m guessing somewhere WordPress is messing with the time (and now it’s 5 minutes wrong)?
Could you check your site’s wp-config.php file, and make sure there are no constants that could change the time there?
Thanks!
