integrating wordpress – add it, or customize it?

    Okay…I am working on designing a PHP website for my church. I need to have a wordpress blog integrated into the site. What is the best way to do this? I want it to be fully fuctional, with commenting, archiving, categories, etc, but all within the church website.

    Is it better to try and customize the template to make it look like the website, or better to try and add the coding and loop and everything into the website itself?

    Either way, I am stuck. I am pretty new to PHP design (very new) and new to wordpress as a whole.

    The way I got around it with my personal site is by cheating and using the Tiny theme inside an iframe 😛

    Any help in which direction I should go would be great…and then if all else fails, how do I go about finding a reputable person (and cheap!) to help me with the customization?
