• Dear Sayontan,

First, I’d like to express my gratitude for all the hard work you’ve put into Photonic. I use it extensively across multiple sites, and its seamless integration with Google Photos has been invaluable. Your dedication to maintaining and supporting this plugin is truly commendable!

With the upcoming changes to Google Photos and the planned shutdown of its API, I am actively exploring alternative solutions for managing and displaying my photo galleries. Given that I am now a regular user of DeviantArt, I was wondering if it would be possible to build an integration with the DeviantArt API within Photonic.

DeviantArt has a well-documented API that allows users to retrieve their galleries, collections, and individual artwork, and it could serve as an excellent alternative for those of us looking for a reliable image hosting and sharing solution. The ability to display DeviantArt galleries in the same streamlined way as other platforms would be a fantastic addition to Photonic.

I understand that API integrations require careful consideration, but I would love to hear your thoughts on whether this could be a viable feature in the future. Please let me know if this is something you might be interested in exploring.

Thanks again for your incredible work on Photonic!

    Best regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Yes, I think I can consider DeviantArt a suitable candidate for Photonic. I will need to see what all is available through the API.

    Hello Sayontan,
Thanks for taking the time to consider this.
I hope that there is a way to use the API, Deviant can be a bit hit and miss at times,…
If you do manage to have any joy, I would be more than happy to assist with any testing that might be required.
    Best regards
    Mark
