integration with DIVI theme SEARCH module

Hi!
I have installed the better search plugin to be used in this site.
And it must integrate with the DIVI theme SEARCH module, like in the homepage “search” where the user could start searching.
It is not working, the search module is using the standard search engine.
On the contrary, it is working ok in the sidebars where there is the option to select the better search module.
Question: how to integrate the better search plugin with DIVI theme search module?

Hi Roxana,

Unfortunately, i don’t have access to Divi as it is a premium theme.

is there documentation on how this search module works?

Thanks for you quick response.

I have tested the issue, and I see that the problem is that the plugin in not searching “projects”, only pages and posts. Even when I have selected the option at the settings.

It works fine if I use the standard widget (it searches at pages, posts and projects), but it does not search at projects when I use it at the body of the page or template.
I realize it is replacing the standard search engine because the standard does not search at pages (only posts).

I wish you could tell me how to make it work for projects, when doing a search at the body of the page or template.

Please take a look at https://info.turismosostenible.com.ar, the “buscar” buttom, and the widget which is used at the bottom bar of the page.

Have you enabled it to search post types in the Better Search settings page?

I noticed that the search form at the top includes extra parameters: “&et_pb_searchform_submit=et_search_proccess&et_pb_include_posts=yes&et_pb_include_pages=yes” and I’m wondering if those parameters are overriding Better Search.

Is there a way for you to understand if Divi is doing this?

Yes I suppose this could be the problem. I will ask the DIVI support team and keep you notify about the solution … I hope I will find it!;)

Thanks Roxana – there might be a way to just not have those options that add the extra parameters
