Hi, could you clarify something please? I’m trying to set up PixelYourSite alongside GDPR Cookie Consent. I’ve enabled the integration and AJAX filter values update. I’ve added the Pixel ID to PixelYourSite and I haven’t enabled tracking before consent. However, the script is loading before consent has been given. What am I doing wrong?

I’m also using Autoptimize and Comet Cache and ould like to check if this set up (once correctly configured) will accommodate changes in consent (i.e. revoking consent after initially granting it) without caching issues. When checking the above implementation I am manually clearing the caches first.

Lastly, I’m also using Google Analytics – should I add that via PixelYourSite too or directly in GDPR Cookie Consent? Again I’m thinking about the caching.

For now I’ve disabled PixelYourSite until I am clearer as to how it should be set up to work alongside GDPR Cookie Consent.

    Hi,

There are several plugins withe such a name (GDPR Cookie Consent is pretty common), so please provide a link to the one you use.

It’s the one by WebToffee, as featured on your GDPR page.

    Thanks.

This plugin has its own integration with us that overwrites the settings configured inside our plugin. Basically no tag will fire before consent is given. If it works in a different way I suggest you contact their support for more details.

The cache related question should be asked on their support too.
I don’t know of any problems regarding cache plugins.

To give you more details, we have a filter that allows other plugins to block our pixels. The “GDPR Cookie Consent” uses this filter to stop any pixel implemented by our plugin before consent is given.

Regarding Google Analytics, if you want to benefit from our features (like custom events, or enhanced ecommerce) you need to use our plugin. I don’t know what features are supported by them.

OK thanks. I’ve already spoken with them, not really much help tbh, nothing regarding integration with you or caching.

So, just to be 100% clear: I add the pixel ID to your plugin and enable the integration and AJAX filter values update. Nothing needs changed with the Cookie Consent plugin, it just automatically overrides yours and will only load the pixel after consent? I’ve just done all this and the Pixel is loaded prior to consent, even after clearing caches and using a Private Browsing window. It doesn’t seem like the integration is working – does it only apply to their premium version perhaps?

When just using the GDPR CC plugin, the caching has been a problem when a user revokes consent – the change is not picked up and scripts are still loading. GDPR CC/WebToffee say that they do not integrate with either Autoptimize or Comet Cache, hence checking with you as I’m sure I’ve seen somewhere that your plugin allows for cache changes?

I just tested your website and the Facebook Pixel is NOT fired before consent is given.

Once consent is given, the Facebook Pixel is fired.

Make sure you open the Pixel Helper for details and that you test in an incognito window.

You will see a message like this one: “We detected event code but the pixel has not activated for this event, so no information was sent to Facebook.”

Ah my mistake, sorry. I work mainly in Firefox and haven’t used Pixels much before. Thank you, I have it handling Analytics too now. Appreciate the prompt help.
