    Sorry about the delay in writing back to you.

    Since you’ve added that feature to your theme, it loads only when your theme is loaded; if another theme is being used, your theme files aren’t loaded at all.

    When your mobile readers land on your site, only Jetpack’s mobile theme loads, not your desktop theme.

    To solve this issue, you will consequently need to move your code to a plugin, so the code can be loaded on your site regardless of the theme you are using.

    I hope this clarifies things a bit.
