    Hi
We maintain a whitelist of allowed emails addresses, and upon user registration, check if the email is on our whitelist, using the ‘register_post’ – hook.

This has worked fine for a year or so, but with the newest version of cleantalk spam protection, it has stopped working. Things work fine if we disable the cleantalk plugin, so we feel certain that something in the cleantalk plugin code interferes with our user registration code.

There are too many options in the Cleantalk plugin for us to try to enable/disable all of the to figure out if it possible to modify the configuration, but do you have any idea if it will be possible to use the plugin with our custom code on the “register_post”-hook, and if so, which configuration to use.

We are on the paid version of the plugin.

    Thank you.

    Hello @smunk,

I’ve tested your form here https://kontemplation.dk/community?fcom_action=auth&form=register and after submitting the form I received the message:
ERROR: Din email ([email protected]) er ikke registreret som deltager på kurser eller retreats, der giver adgang til Kontemplations community.
Har du allerede en konto? Log ind

Is this normal behavior or not? How should your custom code work?

    Thanks for your reply!

Yes, that is normal behaviour, the registration triggers our custom code, and since your email is not on our internal whitelist, your registration gets rejected.

It only works because I have disabled the Cleantalk plugin. If i enable it, the registration gives an error messages like “Something went wrong” no matter if the email address is on our whitelist or not.

I am having a similar problem I installed CleanTalk to prevent Subscriber Spam as thousands of fake users were being generated.

Now when legitimate newsletter subscribers try to subscribe using the small form in the footer of my site they get the following message:-

    *** Forbidden. Anti-Spam by CleanTalk. ***

The website is https://shamanismuk.com/, the form in question is in the site footer (newsletter sign up)

I have checked the advanced settings and all seem correct to me please can you help?

    Hello @tandtseo

This is a different issue. The subscription form in the footer is made with Beaver Builder, am I right? This one: https://docs.wpbeaverbuilder.com/beaver-builder/layouts/modules/subscribe-form/?

We need to know the exact configuration and settings of your form to determine whether the issue can be fixed with settings or whether integration with the form is necessary. You can create a ticket and send us the details: https://cleantalk.org/my/support/open.
