    Hi,
we have been using postie to send scanned press cuttings to our clients and although it is working fine normally we have an intermittent problem with some not reaching the required page. it seems to work for half of them but then the other half get lost and don’t arrive on the page. I appreciate that we can be scanning over around 100 at a time but sometimes it works and soemtimes it doesn’t. is therea pro version of the plugin that you think will stop this from happening?

    Any help would be appreciated

I’m glad you are making good use of Postie.

There isn’t a “pro” version or anything like that. You are getting the best Postie there is.

What you are describing sounds like either Postie is running out of memory or out of time. PHP places limits on both.

The easy fix is to change the Postie setting “Maximum number of emails to process” to something 25.

Otherwise you can increase the memory assigned to WordPress. See http://postieplugin.com/faq/fatal-error-memory/

And increase the execution time. See http://php.net/manual/en/info.configuration.php#ini.max-execution-time

    Hello Wayne,
Sorry to bother you again but after a couple of weeks of no problems (barring a couple of issues) the scanned images which we then send on using the shortcodes are bouncing back and not posting to where they need to go.

There seems to be no reason for this to have changed and we are finding it a bit baffling to be honest.
My colleague follows this route :-
    1. Scans cuttings to her inbox
    2. scan comes through as an email in her office inbox.
    3. using the shortcodes that have been set up she then forwards them to the correct page on the site.

At this point and after some delay they are coming back saying that they could not be sent.

When you are processing about 25 at a time and maybe 4 bunches of them per day this is causing a lot of unnecessary work.

Can you please help us find a solution to the problem or suggest a different way to do this?
Maybe I have something set up incorrectly in the settings of the plugin? Could you please take a look?

We have set up post category slugs for either press cuttings (cut) or pr.
You can see them clearly under posts – categories

    Many thanks in advance

    Hello,
Have you been able to look at this support request?

It is now becoming an urgent situation as our clients are not able to access their press cuttings.
    Many thanks in advance

Is this a message from Postie? It sound like a message from your email provider.

I would need to see the exact message before I can provide any additional assistance.
