I’ve been adding internal links to each of my posts and paid attention to the number of internal links TO each in the posts list in WordPress. I got at least 3 links to each post a couple of weeks ago.

Recently when I log in on my site I see that the number of internal links to each post has changed. Some say 0, 1, 2, or more now and they’re all different, but many of them are 0.

I checked on a friend’s website that I do some work on and his is having the same issue. Does anybody know what’s going on? Are the links still there and Yoast just isn’t recognizing them?

I have the same problem and have already reported it on GitHub: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/15987

Downgrading to 14.8.1 solves the issue, though of course that’s only a temporary solution.

    Hi @alukerowley and @tkyle,

Can you confirm that you have allowed Yoast SEO to scan your links and this is an issue that happens if you do a conflict check?

To check whether Yoast SEO has indexed all your links, please go to SEO > Tools and make sure that there are green checkmarks under the Text link counter and SEO data.

To check for conflicts, we’d like to know if the problem still happens if you deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen

We have a step-by-step guide here: How to check for plugin conflicts.

If you’ve taken the steps above, and the problem goes away after downgrading to 14.8.1, you’re welcome to add any helpful information to the open Github issue that @chrisauthor mentioned to help us reproduce the problem.

@alukerowley and @tkyle, do you have an update for this? Does it work for you now and did you have to downgrade to 14.8.1? Obviously this only affects part of the users, otherwise there would be many more messages, but it’s important to know how/why, otherwise this will never get fixed.

We have tried to reproduce the issue on our end but couldn’t reproduce such an issue at all. However, we are aware of the issue since you have opened a bug report and our development team will look into this further.
