• Our domain recently went down for 4 days and now when I log into WordPress all is in order but any updates to the page (posts, blogs etc) can be successfully viewed when logged in but are not ultimately sent to the live site. When I click on settings => permalinks I get redirected to the Internal Server Error page
“The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.”

I spoke to the hosting company and they advised all is in order and that this is an issue with our WordPress (possibly the MySQL database for our WordPress). The hosting company also advised I look through the error logs but I am unable to deduce the problem from sifting through the logs.

Any help from others who experienced such problems would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Temporarily disable all of your plug-ins and see if the problem persists.

Do you have any caching plug-ins installed?

Did you do any updates to either WordPress or your plug-ins just before you started having problems?

    Thanks Matt,

I will give that a try and let you know if it resolves the issue. We have not updated the version of WordPress but I think the issue was triggered when the site went down sue to the domain being temporarily suspended for 3-4 days.
