Internal Server Error on Forgot Password

    Hello,

    I setup a blog yesterday and thought I had changed the password from the random one WordPress gives you at setup to one that I normally use, but apparently I didn’t. Now I am trying to do a “Forgot Password” to get it back but every time I do, I get this error:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    check your Apache error logs.

    I just checked and my error logs are empty :S

    does anyone else have any idea what could be wrong?

    Afraid I can’t help with the actual error, but here are some alternative ways to fix your password: Resetting_Your_Password

    Thanks, got my password reset and got logged in.

    Now I noticed the same error happens when I try to register. I think it might have something to do with the emailing part. Are there any special settings I need to setup for registration emails and forgot password emails to work?

    Got the issue resolved. I had to contact my host and have them turn off the mail service for my domain. Reason for this was because the main site using the domain (and therefore the mail server) is hosted at another server. I am only using this server for my blog on a subdomain…. If that makes any sense.
