• Okay, so first of all I’d like to say I’m extremely new to all of this. I was working on trying to get pictures to agree with my theme so I was trying to create a new default image size so I was in the functions.php file. I created a new image but still wasn’t happy with it so I was changing cropping modes and sizes trying to get it how I liked it for my gallery that was being displayed as a slideshow using jsj gallery slideshow when boom… Internal Server Error. I can still access my site as just a guest but when I try to login as admin I continue to get this error. Please keep in mind I’m very new with this so much of the jargon is hard to understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Internal server errors are most of the time related to .htaccess or PHP server.

Try adding this code to your .htaccess file:

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

Okay thanks HostPuma but I did this and I’m still getting the internal server error, any more ideas? Furthermore, all of the pages on my site are down except the homepage… Not sure if this is because of the .htaccess file or not. Also don’t know if this means anything or not but when I changed the name from just .htaccess file to .htaccess_old as recommended in another forum the icon changed from a bomb to what looks to be a disc or something with a purple oval… Also now it doesn’t let me change the name back to just .htaccess, I get an invalid file name error

You can try deleting the .htaccess file and uploading a new one.

Also, check your website error logs. If you have cPanel, login and goto Error Logs, post the latest errors you have here.
