Invalid argument supplied

    As nobody else has this it must be something to do with my existing plug-ins. If it helps … the symptoms are:

    The Settings page was a mess when I first installed the plug-in – php errors in various places.

    There were no social icons to drag in to the “box below”.

    These are the php errors:

      Wrong datatype for second argument in /~my-username/public_html/my-site-name/media/plugins/floating-social-bar/class-floating-social-bar.php on line 551

      Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /~my-username/public_html/my-site-name/media/plugins/floating-social-bar/class-floating-social-bar.php on line 522

    With display on ‘Posts’ enabled:

      Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /~my-username/public_html/my-site-name/media/plugins/floating-social-bar/class-floating-social-bar.php on line 796

    …and no icons appeared between the two horizontal lines.

    This sounds unusual because we have tested this plugin on numerous sites of our own, and were unable to replicate anything of that sort.

    Not sure what could be going wrong on your end. The best thing I can say is:

    1. Delete the plugin and reinstall it. See if the error persists.

    2. If it does, then deactivate all plugins and test one by one to see what is actually causing the error.

    Hi, and thank you for the very prompt reply.

    So I deactivated all plug-ins but the errors remain.

    Then (without activating any plug-ins) I deleted and then re-installed the floating social bar.

    The errors still remain.

    I’m wondering if it’s anything to do with the ‘Better WP Security’ plug-in by Bit51. This plug-in changes all sorts of settings which are designed to make WordPress less vulnerable to hacking – some of which it says are not reversed when the plug-in is deactivated. Examples are the wp-contents directory can be renamed, the database can be given a different table prefix than is standard and the User with ID 1 is removed from the system.

    Do you know know if your plug-in has been tested with that plug-in?

    If you are on MultiSite, delete the plugin and re-install. I fixed a bug that could have caused that issue. That’s the only thing I can think of that would cause that issue.

    Hi – no, I don’t use MultiSite. I’ve deleted and re-installed anyway but still get the error. This time it’s on line 790

    Thank you for your time. It is appreciated. This must be something weird with my particular setup.
