Invalid characters/links

Good day
I have a project where i must convert a localhost wordpress instalation into a static html for publishing, using the wordpress for just some casual modifications to same pages.
I have found this plugin and sounded pretty great but i found a pair of problems.
While testing the static html on my localhost i found that everytime i clicked on a link it would redirect me to the WP version of the website and not the static one.
Also, every special character would come out pretty strange making the text somewhat unreadable.
Is there a way to fix this issues or will this plugin not work for my project considering this factors?
