    I have read many support posts regarding the invalid WP 2FA code/critical error issue. I am experiencing the same issue, so I have deactivated your plugin until the 2.4 update is available. I have your plugin configured on a handful of sites so far, all using sucuri, latest version of WP, php 8.2 and all plugins and themes are automatically updated.

    I have read your responses on other posts that there are two reasons for this happening – Sucuri changing the secret keys on one recent post and a ‘script that is not present’ on another. Will the 2.4 update fix both problems?

    For the sucuri keys problem, while waiting for your update, if i were to temporarily deactivate the sucuri automatic secret keys updater, is there a way to get wp 2fa to work with my current keys?

    Thank you in advance. I appreciate how easy it was to setup and configure the plugin, and would really like to continue using it.

  • I am unable to set up 2FA via Google Authenticator. The documentation shows the QR Code but when I scan it the app keeps saying ‘Invalid Key’. Setting up 2FA shouldn’t be this complicated.

    Indeed, update 2.4.0 will solve all the known problems and it will be released in a few weeks (no exact ETA yet, but we are very near).

    In regards to the Sucuri problem, once Sucuri changed the keys, unfortunately every user has to reconfigure 2FA. This basically happens because the plugin used the old keys as private keys to encrypt data, and now that the keys have changed, it is trying to use them to decrypt data but the data cannot be decrypted, since the keys have changed.

    So you need to reconfigure 2FA so then new keys are used. Sorry for the inconvenience.
