Invalid File exported widget backup

    I back up the sidebar widgets when I change them, and now today, suddenly, all of the sidebars are gone. I went to import the most recent backup, which was done on Jan 8, 2019 and I get the following error message: “Invalid File! Please upload Widget Options exported data.”
    Now what?
    Update: I pasted the json into the JSON Formatter and Validator site, and it validated successfully.

    Update: I manually added back one sidebar menu as an HTML widget. Downloaded the backup. Tried to restore the backup, got the same error. The restore is broken?
