Invalid link when tracking turned on

Hi,
We are experiencing an “Invalid link” error when a link is clicked when tracking is turned on, it works fine when turned off.
We have to do this on a per email basis as the option in global settings labeled “tracking default” seems to have no effect.
Do you have any ideas?
