Invalid mailbox syntax

Hi, this ‘invalid mailbox synta’x isn’t breaking my forms – everything is sending as it should be, however I’ve got the annoying ‘Invalid mailbox syntax is used’ warning because of the form validation thing.

It’s only happened since Contact Form 7 5.8.1. I know version 5.8.2 supressed the ‘unsafe email config’ when using special mail-tags – but other than disabling the ‘Invalid mailbox syntax is used’ error code in my theme, I can’t see how to get this validator to accept the [group] [/group] in the ‘To’ field.

Removing the [group] from the To: field erases the error, but I need the if/else option for the To: field.

Any suggestions? Like I said, everything is working as it should – just that error notification is annoying.

This is on a staging site, I’ve kept the Live site at version 5.7.7 and conditional fields at 2.3.9 because that was the last combination that did cause ‘validation errors’. But I really need to update lol.
