Invalid Style JSON provided Error in Version 4.00
-
When updating settings on the new version of the plugin, the following error is displayed:
Invalid Style JSON provided
Integrated with MonsterInsights Analytics, otherwise using default settings.
-
I’ve got the same problem. Updated plugin this morning after logging into the website, since then none of the instant articles have been published. Getting that Invalid Style JSON provided as well. Checked style on Facebook, all default. Something went wrong with this new 4.0 update.
Same here.
Update. I’ve checked and enabled “Enable AMP markup generation” and added “Instant Article JSON Style” downloaded from my Facebook page Publishing tools. It doesnt seem to help. That got rid of the error but still no Instant articles getting published.
Hello,
Thanks for your feedback. We will include a fix on v4.0.1 by today.
It should not be preventing you from publishing Instant Articles, but it might prevent you from changing the settings.
@milty71 – did your articles stop being ingested?
Thank you,
DiegoHello @milty,
Can you share some URLs that were supposed to be ingested but weren’t? Also, can you check, at the post edit screen, if the Facebook Instant Articles meta-box show any warnings?
Thank you,
DiegoHey Diego,
This is the only article that has been ingested today.
Only thing that seems to be different from all others that are not ingested is this piece of markup:
<meta property=”fb:pages” content=”240277589326397″ />
<meta property=”ia:markup_url” content=”https://www.srbijadanas.net/siptarska-policija-vatrenim-oruzjem-ranila-najmanje-dvadesetak-srba-medju-kojima-su-i-deca/?ia_markup=1″ />
<link rel=”amphtml” href=”https://www.srbijadanas.net/siptarska-policija-vatrenim-oruzjem-ranila-najmanje-dvadesetak-srba-medju-kojima-su-i-deca/?amp_markup=1″><script>In articles not being ingested markup is like this:
<meta property=”fb:pages” content=”240277589326397″ />
<script>It seems that part of the markup relating to “ia:markup_url” is missing on articles not being ingested by Facebook IA.
Thanks!
No warnings on that one article that got ingested today. Checked it.

Same JSON error message for us – without changing any settings, just hitting the save button on the existing settings.
And our rss feed updated about 10 minutes before I updated the plugin, but hasn’t updated since – even after updating individual blogposts. Guess that’s why no new or updated posts are being pushed out to FBIA?
Hey @milty71,
That’s exactly the behavior. The inclusion of this tag is now what makes an article be submitted to IA or not, and we do not submit articles with warnings by default. Can you check the meta-box for warnings on articles that were supposed to be ingested but were not?
Thank you,
DiegoI’ve got a warning
No rules defined for <div class=”wpsso-schema-image-for-pinterest”> in the context of InstantArticle
I think it has to do with the wpsso plugin I have for schema.

Hey Diego,
Articles are being published to IA without any warnings and without any problem after I’ve disabled some stuff in wpsso plugin. All back to normal.
Thanks for your help and have a great day!

We aren’t getting any warnings – but articles (& rss feed) still not updating. Latest one: http://www.turkeysforlife.com/2015/08/zentara-beach-kitchen-koca-calis.html
And we don’t have the wpsso plugin…
Hey @turkeysforlife,
Can you check in your Instant Articles plugin settings whether your Page ID is set?
Thank you,
DiegoHi Diego,
Yes, the page ID is set in the settings.
Updating to v4.0.1 seems to have fixed both the JSON and feed problem. Thanks!
