I spent yesterday manually deleting obsolete files from my uploads folder. Could I have deleted something rankmath needs? What is the fix?

    Hello @mesmer7 ,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It appears that the “invalid date.timezone” warning is not related to the Rank Math plugin.

Regarding the other warning, it is connected to the author entity in your schema. In this case, please navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles and Meta > Authors, and ensure that the “Author Archives” option is enabled.

    Here’s a screenshot for your reference: https://i.rankmath.com/i/RHj61c

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

That can’t be it. I’ve always (3 years) had the author archives disabled, the error just showed up this week.

But just in case, I enabled and disabled them again.

Half my site disappeared yesterday. I had to restore from a two-day-old backup. So far, the error hasn’t recurred.

BTW, does rankmath use the files GeoIP.dat or GeoIPv6.dat? I deleted these files because they looked like leftover from a deleted plugin, but I was wondering if deleting them might have caused my problems?

    Hello @mesmer7,

If the files were not removed from our plugin’s folder, then deleting them shouldn’t cause any issues with our plugin. Please confirm if you got any error when the site disappeared and if it was related to our plugin.

    Looking forward to helping you.

The errors have not recurred since restoring the site from backup 3 days ago.

GeoIP.dat or GeoIPv6.dat were in the uploads folder. And I haven’t restored them. So deleting them must not have caused the problem.

I don’t know what actually happened. But the site seems to be fine now. Although I haven’t updated any plugins again since restoring from backup. So maybe one of the plugin (or theme) updates caused a conflict.

    Hello @mesmer7,

Thank you for the update. We’re glad to hear your site is stable again. Based on what you’ve described, it seems the errors were not related to Rank Math or the deleted GeoIP files. It’s possible a plugin or theme update may have triggered a temporary conflict.

If the errors reappear after future updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can investigate further.

    Looking forward to helping you.
