We have a client using a plugin and they are asking why the invoice date is 12 days after the order date. Do you know why this would happen and what initiates the invoice date? Thanks!

Hi! The order date is the date the order was placed and the invoice date is the date the invoice was created. Usually this is not the same date, but it depends on your settings for the plugin. See: When is the PDF invoice number assigned?.
If you haven’t enabled any automatic attachments (and then manually requested the invoice 12 days later) or if the order was completed 12 days after it was paid, this causes that difference.

Thank you for the reply. We already have it set to send invoice with the order so why the invoice date is 2 weeks later is still a mystery to us. Maybe these line items will help?

    Invoice Date: 10/01/2018
    Order Number W10207
    Order Date 09/15/2018
WooCommerce: Order was pending payment and cancelled by staff on 09/18/18 at 10:50am

Hi That actually makes sense – if this order was pending payment it’s likely that the invoice was never generated (for example if you attach the invoice to the “Processing” or “Completed” email). Then on October 1st, someone clicked the PDF invoice button or did a bulk export and the invoice was then created.
