Hi @bufsan,
Thank you for your feedback, we will address this in a future release to clarify what the option does.
If you select the option “IP addresses are anonymized” (and when Complianz places the statistics tool on your site), the plugin will ensure that IP addresses are anonymized by default.
Complianz will anonymize the final digits of the IP address so that you can only see the country, but not more specific, such as the city. But we don’t change the status of the IP after obtaining consent, it is always anonymized. If we have to “undo” this, it would result in a different userID, thus the data could not match up in certain cases.
Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Jarno

Hoi @bufsan,
If you verify that you have completed the steps as mentioned in our article “Configure Google Analytics 4 for GDPR”, this setup would be correct/considered GDPR-friendly in the Netherlands.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,

Hi @jarnovos , thx. You perhaps also have the same article for regular GA (UA)? I don’t use GA4 yet.
Kind regards, Sander
Hi @bufsan,
Yes, you can follow the steps in this article instead: https://complianz.io/how-to-configure-google-analytics-for-gdpr/
I’ll mark this as resolved for now, just let us know if you need any further assistance!
