    Regarding the IP Block list. I understand any IP addresses you list in the box will be completely blocked from accessing my website. But it does not seem to be working as I receive notices from the same IP addresses that they have been blocked for a few hours. How do I fix this. Many thanks.

    Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

    Could you please try to flush all caches in case you have a cache plugin or Cloudflare and then check if the issue is gone?

    Some caching plugins can prevent the lockout page when the IP was added but caches not flushed.

    Let us know the result you got.

    Thanks, Patrick, I do not use cloudflare. Have flushed all cache. It will take a few days for hackers to try again, and I will monitor the situation.

    I have monitored the IP blocking but the same IP addresses in the IP Block list are still trying and are being locked out for four hours. The Cache plugin I am using is SG Optimiser. Hope this helps you pinpoint the problem. Thank you.

    Hi @jholm22804,

    Sounds like you are looking to permanently ban these IPs from what you ave stated it sounds like the IPs are temporarily banned. You should find the option for a “Permanent” ban under Defender > Firewall > Login Protection > Duration where you could set that up.

    Once done, the IPs will be banned permanently. You’ll have to do the same under Defender > Firewall > 404 Detection depending upon whether its a login lockout or 404 lockouts that you notice the most.
