IP Whitelisting – Do it properly
-
Hi,
A traceroute command showed that there’s a block of IPs related to the WAF I use (Sucuri).
Sucuri Support team told me that if a security application (Fail2ban, cPhulk, ConfigServer Firewall, mod_security, Cerber Security, etc.) or the local firewall is blocking one of the firewall IP addresses, whitelisting the firewall IP addresses ranges on all configured security applications should resolve the issue.
My webhoster has whitelisted these IPs. I do not use any plugin that could change mod_security or else…
Then in Cerber Security :
I’ve added their IPs in Dashboard > Access List > Whitelist.I have also checked : “My site is behind a reverse proxy”. (checked or unchecked, same result)
Then, to be sure that there is no conflict with other settings, can you tell me what I have to check in the other tabs of the plugin to be sure that this whitelist is active ?
I think about :
– Dashboard > Main Settings
– Dashboard > Hardening
– Traffic Inspector > Settings
– Integrity and Anti-Spam… maybe ?Thanks for your assistance,
Law
