I am new to WordPress. My wife had a web site set up for her many years ago and we haven’t used it or updated it for years. She wanted to strip it down to a couple of pages but the original programmer is long gone so I am looking at making changes.

It has been down for years with an error that says it is broken and after working with HostGator which houses the site I found the problem was with The Cherry Framework plugin (ver 1.2.7). We are on, at the moment, WP 6.8.2.

If we disable the plugin, it works.

My question is, should I even try to upgrade to new version of Cherry? Their website has the last set of notes or upgrades in about 2017. I don’t know if it is supported.

The problem is trying to figure out what that framework did so I can replicate it.

    Thanks,

    Tom

I cannot find a plugin with this name in the WordPress repository. However, there is a very old repository here that appears to be it: https://github.com/CherryFramework/cherry-framework – it lists version 1.5.11 from 2021. Due to its age, I would recommend not using this plugin.

The version I have is 1.2.7 but on their page they seem to quite a bit higher but nothing on their site from after about 2017.

When I look at my themes I see a Cherry there, but the version is 3.1.5 and it says that it is for WordPress 3,8,x.

So, as you say, I should just ignore this plugin and probably just remove it since it doesn’t work with the later versions of WordPress anyway.

    Thanks.
