Other users reported this. Apparently, the plugin is not compatible with WPML. I honestly don’t know what I need to do to make it work since I’m unfamiliar with WPML.

Hi Fernando,
can you enable that the details state in 1. Privacy Banner Text 2. Privacy Exerpt to be translated within mo/po files and if, where to find?

As WPML is one of the most used translation plugin you need to contact them directly as they will help you and provide you with corresponding help for your integration.

WPML isn’t a free plugin.
May be it would be fair to make GDPR compatible with Polylang, which is very used too and is in the wordpress plugin directory…

Yes WPML is not free but extrem effective and popuar too. As long you enable all data to be translate with mo/po files, then it would also work with WPML I guess.

Not so sure. It can depend on Ajax way of using by WPML.
You can test Transposh: I use it for many clients, is free and you can access lively to strings on Frontend.

hmm – my whole site is setup with WPML so this would cause me too much changes as well the external translation access is also important for our multiligual approach.
So please find a way to use at least mo/po files to use your plugin fields to be able to translate them correspondingly.

Same problem here with WPML.
I’ve translated everything in italian, apart from fields in the settings page with the insert text box.
It happened on another plugin i have used in the past and the WPML support asked me to told the plugin developers to contact them.
Maybe it can work also for you and your amazing plugin.
I’ll update you about what they’ll told me.

Hi Fernando,
this is just a info to be aware how WPML is already working to enable some of your strings to be translated. WPML is collecting those strings from your GDPR plugin and enable within string translations the option to translate those.

If you would be able to add the missing text or content in same way which you have done to display the content in WPML string translations, you would be a step further. But as I mentioned if you use the core idea to translate WP or plugins would be the best to enable the same for your GDPR plugin.

As long as the strings are __(‘string’, ‘textdomain) and similar, in your plugin (the values of the fields inside options), they should show up on their own inside WPML string translation panel.
Btw this is an amazing plugin! Very well done and thank you!
Someone sent me a WPML file that will make the option fields available to be translated in WPML. I’ll adjust it to V2 and push it soon.

These fields are coming from your settings. You can change those but WPML will not translate any of these fields yet, since I still need to push the wpml file.
