FYI, I does seem like serialized replace is broken in the current version ( 1.4.4 ). We grabbed 1.4.3 from another site where it hadn’t been updated yet, and rolled back to that on the site where it wasn’t working, and then the serialized replace started working again. If you run into this problem, look for 1.4.3 and install it instead of 1.4.4 and serialized replace should work again.
@sangfroidweb FYI, you can get older versions from the advanced section on the plugins page for plugins in the repo (e.g. scroll to the bottom here:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/better-search-replace/advanced/)
Thank you so much! I have been banging my head against this exact issue for 2 hours! I just rolled back from 1.4.4 to 1.4.3 and it suddenly went from 4 cells found to 1200 cells found which need updating.
Thanks 🙂
Hi @sangfroidweb,
Better Search Replace Support Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query, we would be happy to assist!
I see another thread with a similar sounding issue, so I’m curious what could be causing it.
Looking at the change logs, there’s only one change between 1.4.3 and 1.4.4:
“Fix: Objects with numerical properties are now skipped to avoid causing errors”
Could you send us an export copy of one of your tables where you are running a search/replace? You can use a site like wetransfer.com to upload a zipped file and get a shareable link.
Once you have a link, kindly send us a message using the contact form on our site:
https://bettersearchreplace.com/contact/
Please include the downloadable link from wetransfer.com, as well as a link to this thread, to your message in the contact form. Please DON’T share the wetransfer.com link on this public forum.
Please also include the search string you are using that is not showing up in 1.4.4, but works in 1.4.3.
Kindly keep an eye on your email inbox as we may continue our communication from there.
Looking forward to your response!
