Hi, I’ve seen on some blogs that I’ve visited where they have a section on their sidebar that says, “Number of posts since you last logged on” and then gives the actual number of new entries. Ditto for comments. Is this done through a plugin or can someone show me how to do this for my site? Thanks.

but i looked at the plugin and it doesn’t seem like what I’m looking for….maybe I’m confused : (. Um… coldforge’s site has something I am looking for. Is this the same thing?

ColdForged uses one of the recent comments plugins (or maybe something of his own making) in the sidebar, which just lists the last # of comments posted on the site. Is that what you mean?

Oh, is it just referencing new comments and not actual posts by him?

No, i checked..its posts and comments

ColdForged is using the plugin referenced above :). At least, that’s what he told me.

    Download file from Plugin Repository:

Click on wp-last-visit.php, scroll to the bottom, then click “Original Format”.

    Hey guys,

So I uploaded the file into my folder as instructed on the link. I have a question about pasting code into some of the files as instructed.

    Question :
In the readme file, Step 4 says to do this:

Add some code to show the number of new posts and comments since your last visit

    <script type=”text/javascript”>slvBanner();</script>

Which file am I adding this code to (i.e. index.php) and in which section (i.e. <head>)

    Question:

Step 5 and Step 6 offer which page to paste the code but again, which section.

    Question:

And what the heck does step #8 mean?

    Thanks for the help.

    Podz:

THakns for the help but still having trouble here. The theme I’m using (Landzilla) does not have a header.php file. The header is located in the index.php file.
