    Just need to know if this will be fixed? I have it on about 10 sites and its not working anymore on any of them. will this free version of the plugin be discontinued?

    Just need to know so i can find another solution if necessary. I loved though, sad to see it go 🙁

    Hi @nlwd,

    It’s not the plugin issue, we use Yahoo smush service which is not working. And there are no updates from Yahoo regarding the service, so there is nothing really we can do about it.

    As soon as the service is back, you’ll be able to smush the images.

    Although, the Yahoo service doesn’t affects our Pro version as the server is maintained by us http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/wp-smush-pro/

    Hey there,

    It seems like Yahoo’s Smush.it service has been abondanded, we’re pleased to announce that we’re now running our own free version. You can continue to use our plugin, the difference is that the plugin now uses our own API rather than Yahoo’s.

    We’ve put a lot of work and investment into developing a free service. It wasn’t easy to turn it around in such a short space of time either, we had people working around the clock configuring servers, developing, testing, etc.

    We hope you like it. 🙂
