The Yoast SEO plugin has a minimum requirement of at least PHP 5.6.20 and should work with PHP 7.3 and 7.4, as well as newer versions such as PHP 8.0. You can learn more about it here – https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/#php
However, PHP 8.1 recently released last November 25, 2021, so we do know that it’s not just the Yoast SEO plugin that has compatibility issues, but with other WordPress plugins and themes. So we would hold off on updating immediately until it’s a bit more stable.
