Hi there, I’m quite new to wordpress. Until recently i’ve only used it for it’s basic functions. But now i’m working on this magazine-like website which will be published once a month. I’m building it from scratch with a custom theme. Anyway, my question is. Is there a way (plugin?) to create a new tag/category or whatever for every issue, so that publishing can be done based on the current issue and you can search on posts based on issue?. hmmm not the best question every, but i hope some of you get it and are able to help. Thanks in advance

    phrz,

I’m interesting in knowing whether this is possible, too.

    Anyone?

Well, the wordpress search feature is quite lacking… but there are plugins available to address that – your satisfaction with any of those will depend on your deeper requirements.

As for publishing once a month – there’s nothing stopping you from future-dating all your posts to the first of the following month, at which point they’ll all appear magically when the date changes over.

as for browsing previous items, it would be fairly easy to do based on monthly archive pages. If you browse your monthly archives to may 2008, all you see are posts from the may issue.

now – imagine styling your monthly archive page exactly like your blog’s front page… now you have the equivalent of an issue-browser to view any monthly issue you’ve ever made, just as if you went back in time to view your homepage back then.
