I got this error message:
- Bad RequestSomething went wrong. {“type”:”https://mailchimp.com/developer/marketing/docs/errors/”,”title”:”Invalid Resource”,”status”:400,”detail”:”Your merge fields were invalid.”,”instance”:”8074224f-77d4-44fb-6dfa-cd53fe219cad”,”errors”:[{“field”:”MMERGE5″,”message”:”Please enter a value”}]}
- Member statusMember could not be subscribed.
What can I do to correct this?
Looking forward to a reply, Thanks 🙂
Hi @vera8
I hope you’re well today!
The error that you’re getting means that MailChimp configuration isn’t quite correct. Specifically, it means that there’s a field MMERGE5 defined in your MailChimp and most likely it is marked as required there but it seems like it has no field assigned to it in Hustle.
One way of sorting that out is to check the field in MailChimp (under Audience “settings -> audience fields and MERGE tags”) that the given “MMERGE5” tag (you’ll find which one is it by looking at the “Put this tag in your content” column) is not set as required.
If it needs to be required then you will instead need to make sure that in “Emails” section of your popup configuration there is a form field added for it, also set as required and has the “Field name” option (note: name, not label or default value) set to be exactly the same as the name of the fild in MailChimp audience settings.
So for example, if this is my MERGE tag setting for MERGE5 field in MailChimp audience settings

my popup “Emails” configuration needs to have this field too:

and it either has to be set to required (to make sure that it always passes value to MailChimp) or at MailChimp it needs to be changed to not be required.
Best regards,
Adam
