stats_error: Failed to fetch Stats from WPCOM

This will happen whenever your site is not properly connected to WordPress.com.

    I would recommend the following:

    1. Go to Jetpack > Dashboard in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Scroll down to find the Connections area.
    3. Click the “Manage site connection” link where your site is listed.
    4. Click the red Disconnect button.
    5. Click on the “Set Up Jetpack” button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

If that doesn’t help, I would recommend that you contact the Jetpack support team for help; they should be able to help you with your Jetpack connection issues.

As advised, I disconnected the site NMHiking.com from WordPress.com, and reconnected it. I anticipated that I would see carryover of statistics from the former domain/site pngyoung.com/Hiking.

I continue to see stats only from NMHiking.com, which went online on Oct 18, 2023. And at that time, a .htaccess redirect was set up on pngyoung.com/Hiking, directing to NMHiking.com.

Is it possible to get stats from pngyoung.com/Hiking carried over to NMHiking.com? I’ve seen replies in this group that it has been done for others who have moved their side from one domain to another. (NMHiking.com is a backup/restore of the previous site.)

    TIA. george

I’d recommend getting in touch with Jetpack support for that, they should be able to help!

Edit: I see you’ve already done that here. That’s the way to go πŸ‘
In general, I would recommend against creating multiple threads for the same request. I should also note that you’re in the support forums for the Post Views for Jetpack plugin here, so I can only help with questions about that plugin.
I would also recommend that when asking a question in the ww.wp.xz.cn support forums, you create your own topic instead of replying in an existing topic opened by somebody else; as mentioned in the Forum Welcome, even though your issue might appear similar to other topics, most sites are unique and it’s rarely the same issue.

    Thank you!

When using the Post Views for Jetpack plugin, you rely on the Jetpack plugin. It has to be installed and properly configured on your site, so the Post Views for Jetpack plugin can use the connection provided via the Jetpack plugin to fetch your stats information about each post directly from WordPress.com, where your stats are stored.

Since Jetpack is not properly connected to WordPress.com on your site, those calls to fetch information about your stats fail, and you’ll indeed see those errors in your database for each failed call from the Jetpack plugin to WordPress.com.

Jetpack support will reply to you, even if you do not purchase a paid plan.
