Issue on Plugin Activation Simple Share Buttons Plus

    Hi.

    I purchased the ‘Plus’ version, after having used the free version for many months.

    When I upload the plugin and then attempt to activate it, I receive this error:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home4/alessiob/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-share-buttons-plus/simple-share-buttons-plus.php on line 264”

    Do you know why this may be occuring? Do I need to delete the free version before trying to activate the paid version?

    Hi Alessio,

    Thanks for your topic and recent purchase.

    The issue you’re experiencing is related to old versions of PHP, you shall need 5.3+ to run Simple Share Buttons Plus. You can find our more about why lower than this is not supported here -https://docs.simplesharebuttons.com/plus/requirements/#why-not-php-5-2

    In recent experience hosting providers are pretty happy to upgrade and can do so fairly quickly, if you find different with your host just let me know – please email [email protected] with your licence key and a link to this thread.
