    Hi there, Marcel –

This my second site using your permalink plugin, but it’s been some years. I’m having some difficulty in getting my custom elementor pro 404 page to trigger properly on any nonexistent urls keyed into the site or bad links. Instead of presenting the 404 page, it simply redirects to the home page.

I looked around the literature and I tried debugging various settings, but having some trouble. Do you know why the following page would redirect straight to the home page instead of presenting the 404 page? It’s a nonexistent page:

    http://ysurfaceshop.wpengine.com/xyz/

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @surfaceshopwordpress,

could you check if the same issue occurs also when my plugin is deactivated?

    Best regards,
    Maciej

    Hey Marcel –

When I deactivate the plugin, the 404 page does present on the woocommerce pages, which are currently redirected using your plugin, but I still have the same issue if say, I go to the ysurfaceshop.wpengine.com/xyz, which is a page that doesn’t exist.

Not sure if that answers your question!

Is there a setting in your plugin which would ordinarily redirect any/all mistyped urls to the home page automatically?

    To whom it may concern:

The issue was fixed after the native Permalink Settings were changed from “Plain” to “Post name”. This step is required to make WordPress generate the rewrite rules essential for “pretty permalinks” to work correctly.
