Issue Updating Time Zone Data

Hi Folks,

I’ve got a site that is displaying the wrong time on the front end (it’s showing everything in UTC instead of EST). Our site is set up to use America/New York as the time zone, and I see individual events have this data as well.

I decided to try to update the time zone settings under Settings > Display > Date & Time. I click the button “Update Time Zone Data” and immediately receive the following message:

Update complete: time zone data has been added to all events in the database.

However, navigating away from that page, I see this before the next page loads:

A problem stopped the time zone update process from completing. Please refresh and try again.

Once again, the “Update Time Zone Data” button is displayed. I tried running an SQL query as referenced in your documentation, but that didn’t seem to help.

I’m not quite sure what to do to fix this. I tried:

-Disabling W3 Total Cache
-Refreshing Permalinks
-Clearing Object Cache
-Setting/resetting the time zone in Settings > General
