Issue with 4.2.2 and Plugins

Hi,

I have had this issue now on two site and am not sure what to do.

Since I upgraded to 4.2.2 if I try and upgrade any plugin (or theme) it removes the original one and then fails to install the new one.

This is only since I have upgraded to 4.2.2. The only change I have made is the upgrade.

What I have noticed is I now get errors about creating the folders for plugin. If I go in and manually create the top level folder under plug-ins then it installs no problem.

What has changed in 4.2.2 that has “broken” this?
