    WordPress 5.3.2
    Sidekick Theme 1.0.4
    Firefox 72.0.2

    In the older version I could insert an image and when it was clicked it would resize in a new window. (Would prefer a pop-up but that is frowned on by many) I can get it to work but first I have to insert an image like sample one to get a code number, then manually code it like sample two. Then delete the first one…..all very time consuming.

    code for the page is below:

    <!-- wp:image {"id":7939,"sizeSlug":"large","className":"is-style-zoooom"} -->
    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-style-zoooom"><img src="http://wparksphotography.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/palm-tanager-1-1024x682.jpg" alt="" /><figcaption>Sample One</figcaption></figure>
    <!-- /wp:image -->

    <!-- wp:paragraph -->
    <p>Sample One does not allow for a larger image to be viewed on click. Sample Two is what I used to have (and want) and I can still do but it is a long process. Before it was simple.</p>
    <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

    <p>[caption id="attachment_7939" align="aligncenter" width="640"]<a href="http://wparksphotography.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/palm-tanager-1.jpg"><img src="http://wparksphotography.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/palm-tanager-1.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="427" /></a> Sample Two[/caption]</p>

  • The second one is what you would get from the Classic editor or a Classic block, with the image linked to the media file.

    Ok….I found “classic block” under block manager. It was already checked, un-checking disables it. So how do I get into the classic editing mode?

    If you want to continue using blocks, you can choose to insert a Classic block from the Inserter. Then it is just like the old editor in that one block.
    Or if you don’t want blocks at all, you can install the Classic Editor plugin which will disable the block editor, or you can turn on the option to choose which editor to use for each post, with it defaulting to the block editor if blocks were used already in it.

    Joy,
    Thank you so much!! Installed the classic Editor plugin and now all is back to the way I want things.
    Again THANK YOU!!
