Hi,
is it possible that videos stopped working on January 1, 2020? If so, than that’s an issue with Google Drive changing some APIs, we’re looking into a fix.
Thanks for the report,
Marek
Hi Marek,
Do you have an update on the videos?
Kind regards
Hi Marek,
Will this issue be possible to solve in the near future?
Kind regards
Hi, we’re looking into the issues with videos, however, the changes to the Google API made on January 1st were quite significant. It’s the first issue on the list, however, I can’t give you an exact ETA.
Thanks for understanding,
Marek
Hi,
this issue is the top priority, however, the changes made by Google to the Drive API on 2020-01-01 were quite significant for the plugin, so the fix is very hard. I can’t give you a precise ETA because of that.
Thanks for understanding,
Marek
Hi Marek,
Ah okay! Than I will wait for further progress. Thanks and success!!
Kind regards
Hi,
starting with version 2.8.0, videos are working again, at least partially! Going on from today, there will be 2 “modes” of showing videos:
a) If your video has it’s permissions set to “Anyone on the internet with this link can view”, it will be loaded directly from Google’s servers.
b) If it hasn’t, it will be proxied through your WordPress installation, putting some load on the server and generally being a bit slower.
The functionality in a) is in version 2.8.0, the functionality for b) will be coming in the near future. So for the moment, you have to set the correct permissions on your videos yourself in order for them to show.
Thanks for the patience,
Marek
Hi,
Thank you for your work and the correction you made with version 2.8.
Videos are now displayed correctly
Thank you
Hello,
Videos are still not working for me. On Google Drive I changed the setting to “Anyone on the internet with this link can view” as you suggest. However, the videos do not appear on my website – only still photos.
Thank you,
Lauren
Hello,
and what format are your videos? It basically works only *.mp4
Hello,
Thank you.
I have a folder containing sub-folders. All the sub folders contain mp4 videos.
I want to create a video gallery with each sub-folder on a different page.
Unfortunately, some of the sub-folders work correctly. But with others, I keep seeing a grey loading circle. I have updated all my plugins, my theme, and the php version but it couldn’t be resolved.
Can you kindly help me. Thank you.

Hi,
please check that you’re on the latest version of the plugin. If so, could you give us a link to a page with the issue? Either here or send it over at [email protected]
Thanks,
Marek
