Check the list shortcode, make sure the “search_fields” attribute is correct, it looks like it’s not pointing to a valid field.
Hi Roland !!
Maybe we have a similar situation here.
The exact shortcode that was working fine in PD version 1.9.6.2
suddenly stopped working after an update to 1.9.6.4
This is the shortcode:
[pdb_list search=true search_fields=long_text_field display_count=true template=flexbox suppress=true sort=true]
I’m testing the site on a local enviroment with 1.9.6.2 and the search shortcode is working. But in the same site online with 1.9.6.4 is not working (no results, also the “no records found” messages is not showing.)
Any ideas?
Thanks!!!!
Probably not the same problem. Please start a new thread with a description of the problem you’re seeing.
Hi – thanks for the quick response;
We’ve been using this same code with no issues so far:
[pdb_list search= true search_fields=”district_zips” suppress=true template=default]
OK, looks like I need to issue an update. What’s happening is that it’s not letting you define a search field that is not in the displayed columns of the list.
You should be able to define any field for searching in the shortcode, so I need to issue an update, which will happen in the next day or so.
Yes, it’s affecting only the “search_fields” attribute of the [pdb_list] shortcode.
On the other hand, if you use for instance [pdb_list search=true sort=true] it’s still working fine.
By the way, this is maybe not related but, when you use [pdb_list search=true] without the “sort” attribute the pagination acts in strange ways: clicking on next or number will keep the wheel spinning forever (not going anywhere). But if you add “sort=true” the pagination works fine. I tried this on several environments. If you need to me to start a new thread with this, please let me know.
Thanks!!!!
I just released an update that addresses this issue.
Hi Roland, with your latest update, now the “search_fields” attribute of the [pdb_list] shortcode is working fine again. Thank you for your concern and your fast response!!!
PS: did you get the chance to take a look at this? (from my previous reply)

Thanks again!!
Yes, start a new thread with that one…it’s one way to make sure it gets seen, also it’s more helpful to others.
Hi Roland,
Quick note to say THANKS for your quick help on this. It was much appreciated by the org working towards the election day deadline!
Cheers,
Thomas
