Issue with Indic text

When I use indic (Gurmukhi) text, it displays with extra spaces in between. Visit http://blog.hardeep.name/sikhism/20080805/being-blind/ to see through Iceweasel (Firefox) on Linux. This is an issue with the default theme, because if I use another theme called Options, the problem is resolved. Please advise.
