Hi, I have real trouble with setting individual delivery dates.

I have the main rule with 2-3 weeks delivery time (in plugin configuration)
For some variable products I have shorter delivery times. So I go to the product and open the “Estimate delivery time” Tab and change the dropdown from “Global” to “override”.

Problem now is, that child items do not show this delivery time I have set here on product level.
Child variations show other random delivery times.
What can I do about it? I see that you offer individual points to set delivery dates: Global, on product, on variants.

To me it seems there is some bug. You can check the shoes I have sent you the link. https://litepack.ch/produkt/zpacks-ultralight-camping-schuhe/
When you just open the product, the delivery time is correct. as soon as you select any variant, its wrong.
the Size S in Blue has delivery time on variant level. the rest has delivery tie on product level. both times are wrong.
    Would appriciate your feedback!

    Hi @taufrisch88 ,

There are similar reports as yours before about the issue. Our developers have taken tests carefully to confirm this is not an issue when using the default settings of our plugin.

Our developers pointed out that there might be several external elements affecting our plugin:

    • Caches and caching plugins
    • Variation selector interfaces (in your case, the swatches might be the reason)
    • Block-based themes/templates/editor.

You might want to take some further tests from your end to confirm this by disabling all other plugins, only keep WooCommerce and our plugin activated to check. Remember to use a classic theme or template as well.

    Best regards.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I have to say its quite a big challenge for me as a shop owner to disable all plugins and witch to default theme. I can not do that.
Also I think that it would be good if your plugin would support themes like mine, as it is a best seller.

Do you have any news about this issue?

    Hi @taufrisch88 ,

Unfortunately, there are some themes that do not follow the standards of WooCommerce strictly and some uses the new blocks for the display. The conflict with these themes are not just an error or bug but an incompatibility due to the very different nature of the working mechanism.

It’s not possible for us to make our plugins work with all kinds of themes on WordPress since there are requirements for the special rules to work with some themes or product types.

We do not have any developers for providing support on this forum. We can only collect data about the errors to identify if they are from within or outside of our plugin. In your case, it seems to be an external conflict rather than an inherent issue. I am sorry but we cannot provide any further advice or instructions now for this kind of issue.

    Best regards.

Can I ask you one question:
Can you confirm, that if I have a global delivery date, and I set “override” on Product level like this:
    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/nfut5l4krcsbsnxhtcrxj/WPC.png?rlkey=c4qw39mj7jjhiuegja5tluig5&dl=0

…and I go to frontend and select any variation (child product) that the delivery date should be inherited to the variation? Or will it show global delivery date on variation?

If I open the product it first shows override date, as soon as I select a variation it shows global delivery date.

OR do I have to override delivery date on every variation itself again in the dropdown??

    Hi @taufrisch88 ,

For your information, in the order of priotization, it will be:

Variation rules >> Product (parent variable) rules >> Global (sources) rules >> Default rules.

If you do not set any default variation, upon loading the single product page, the Product level rules will be displayed (Override chosen). If no rules at variation or product level are specified, default rules will take effects to all those variations/products.

In some cases, the overriden rules will show after choosing variations. But for some variation selector interfaces that our plugin do not work properly with, it might fail to recognize the chosen variations, thus the displayed EDD will be different from the settings. There could be plenty of other elements interfering. That’s why we need to check with the pure installation of theme and our WPC plugins only to confirm.

    Best regards.

    (@taufrisch88)

Okay, I will do that. I will install pure Theme and your Plugin. and test if “Override” Date will show on child product. because now override is only shown on Product page without any child selected.

I would really need some help here, I dont know how to proceed with this bug.

Many thanks, I will come back.

    Hi @janilyn409

I made a video to show you my setup. Can you please verify that your Global, Parent, Override Logic is working and inherited properly from top to bottom?
It doesnt seem to work at all.

    Thank you.

    Hi @taufrisch88 ,

We are just back from a long national holiday. Please allow me some time to check the video and reproduce this on our test site. I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

    Best regards.

    Hi @taufrisch88 ,

I watched your video carefully and still saw that there might be some factors affecting the functionality of our plugin:

    • The swatches interfaces
    • A default variation is configured thus when loading the single product page, the specified EDD of that default variation will be displayed first.

I doublt that there must be external factors on your site interfering with our plugin. So I have made a video on test site to show you the flow: https://app.screencast.com/CY4IupsxPTyBH.

On the video, please notice some points:

    • Default EDD are found under WPClever >> Estimated Delivery Dates will apply to all products that have no EDD rules and products that use “Global” rules. So you can see the default EDD on the simple product at first.
    • For my variable product, since no default variation, so the Global/default rules will be shown at first when loading the product page. Upon choosing the variation with Global chosen in the Estimated Delivery Date tab, the default dates will still be visible.
    • Next, change to Override and configure a different min-max range >>Save. You can see the changes in the frontend right away.
    • Then I go to Variations tab and configure 4 options for each variation correspondingly at the same time for you to see the differences: Disable/Global/Global/Parent. You can see in the frontend, the EDD are shown properly upon choosing the variations.

Our test site installs only our WPCstore theme, WPC plugins and WooCommerce so that we can sure that there is no inherent issue in our plugin. The issue on your site might be triggered by the variation selector, caches or theme conflict.

In order to check and confirm, it’s only possible when you disable all other external plugins and change to a standard WooCommerce theme or any of our WPC themes. Especially, any custom code snippets added to your site should be disabled when checking as well.

Hope this help you find the culprit. We are not allowed to ask for further sensitive details from users so I can only provide guides like this.

    Best regards.

Dear @janilyn409 first of all many thanks for your video. I appreciate it. I really try’n to solve this issue, and I am very sure there is a bug somewhere, I have listed my research very carefully:

I will summarize what I see in your video as there is no audio:
Global: set in Plugin configs and will automatically inherited on all existing Products and Childs
*Parent: Will inherit the date from Parent product (only available on child)
Override: Will set an individual Date on Product level or child level
Disable: Will hide the date on product or child completely

    Question:
I want to set an “override” on a variable product with all its Childs. I go to product level ans set “override” and set an individual date. But all child items are per default on “global”. Do I have to go to each child and set parent there? Sometimes I have 80-100 children, and there is no Bulk-Action for your config. But even if I did so, now comes the problem:

    *Issue:
It still does not work as it should. I know you pointing out that I have some pre-selected variants.
    a) this is important, otherwise there is no Price indication for the customer without any pre-selection (Not this example, but on other products with different prices per variant!!).
    b) Please see my example again: https://staging.litepack.ch/produkt/zpacks-plex-solo-lite-zelt/
    My configs are very simple:
    -Global: 10-10 days
    -Parent: 3-3 days
    Product Level:
-Blue: Global = result 10 days (correct, inherited from Global)
-Green: Parent = 1-3 days -> Incorrect: I set 3 days on product level.
-White: Override = 2 days (correct, I set 2 days on white variant)

    I See 2 problems resolving:
    1) How to set an individual common date for a variable product and all its variants.
    2) “Parent” date is not inheriting parent date on variant when selected.

I am looking forward to hearing from you. It would be such a help to solve this.
    Many thanks

    Hi @taufrisch88 ,

    1. For your information, the Override settings will always be prioritized over the Global and Default rules. But if it doesn’t work that way, it might be due to something interfering with our plugin.
    2. It is strange when there is no specific settings per variation but they behave differently. It is not easy to tell why from observing the front end in your case.

I have asked our developers. They said it was almost impossible to tell the reasons why without backend inspections, indeed. I am afraid we could not point out why it is behaving that way. Once again, I would like to emphasize that if you want to set a set of rules for all variations at once, just choose Override in the Estimated Delivery Dates tab of the parent variable and leave all variations untouched.

    Best regards.

    Hi @janilyn409
Is it possible that I pay your developer to check my backend?

Your Plugin is the best on the market (if it works).
And I think it is also positive for you, if your Plugin works with one of the best selling Themes in Themeforrest.

Also I try to summarize again what I understand from your rules set:
    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jezgfj638ensbplnc1tj1/Logic.png?rlkey=gzj6nbjqggo3fimgepl1jtzrz&dl=0

    Can you please confirm that?
