    Hi Sofia,

    Sometimes setting your image as a ‘Featured Image’ helps, otherwise you might need a plugin to help you achieve this.

    I’ve never had much reliable success with it! 🙁

    I did try setting the image using Yoast SEO, but it didn’t have an effect. Also, I did install an Open Graph plugin to try to fix the issue but again no luck. I continue to get a grey image when I try to share to Facebook or twitter.

    I have resolved the issue. There was an error somewhere in my .htaccess file which prevented access to my images. I reset it to the default and now everything is working fine!!

    Great, pleased to hear this! Were you not getting any images pull through to social media at all? Sorry, I thought you were having a problem with it selecting the wrong image.

    Out of interest, can I ask whether adding the image to the ‘featured image’ box sets it to the main image when sharing the post/page on social media?

    I have a colleague who occasionally has problems with setting the image for social media – so it would be good to know what others do. The tables have turned! 🙂

    May I ask if there is a way to remove Facebook and Twitter “Share this” buttons? I didn’t try to add these two buttons but the theme “Shuttle Pro” I purchased automatically added them on each of my pages. I tried hours but couldn’t have them removed. I reached out to the theme developer, they only allowed you to submit the ticket but never resolved any of them. Some basic function like slider never worked for the PRO version but they do not responded with you a timeline to fix it at all. They won’t address this issue either. It was such a horrible experience. Thought I purchased a very bad theme. Any suggestions?
