Issue with structured data

    Hi,

    Google search console is showing that I have a large number of pages showing errors for “missing updated” and “missing author” in my structured data. I believe I read a similar support post that said this issue would be resolved in the next theme update but I have seen no improvements, and more pages getting the error.

    Do you have a solution of how I could resolve this?

    Hi,

    we are using VirtueVersion: 3.2.4.

    Here is an example url for what Google says has 14 errors for missing updated and author. However, I see that in the Google structured data testing tool there are no hentry errors or warnings…

    I am wondering if this has something to do with the related posts on the bottom of the page?

    We did recently added author meta and updated to the related posts carousel.

    Since it’s showing no errors in google structured data testing tool. Can you tell me anything more from your console? Is it possible those are just cached versions of the posts?

    ok, I’ve been doing a lot of testing and reading. I think I have a way to force google console to read the page correctly. I’ll push out an update today and you can test.

    Oh great, I have just updated the theme and resubmitted to google. I will leave it a little bit to see if it settles down in search console.

    Just thought I would give an update on this. Since the update 5 days ago, structured data errors have dropped from 365 errors to 56. I am hoping the rest will go too soon.
