Greetings. I’m in the process of creating a simple artist portfolio, using the Image Hover Effects Ultimate plugin. I’m very happy with how the plugin performs, and I do not regret the purchase.
However, on mobile nothing seems to work right.

No proper scaling. Using General Effects Type 01.
When the page width (due to screen limitations or reduced window size) is below the width of the used picture (and the specified width of the plugin element), the width of the picture/element gets reduced to fit the page. However, only the width gets reduced, leaving the height unchanged and therefore distorting the picture. How can I keep the aspect ratio intact in a situation like this?
This is not strictly limited to mobile. There is also no proper scaling when reducing the width of the desktop browser window.

Scrolling on mobile. Using General Effects Type 01.
Due to the nature of the website, large portions of the screen are covered pictures using this plugin. When trying to scroll on mobile it’s unavoidable that you touch said elements. However, due to how the plugin works, you can only scroll once the element is “hovered on”. This prevents smooth scrolling and is extremely cumbersome, overall a terrible user experience.
The plugin must distinct between attempts to scroll and attempts to “hover”, using touch. The difference here to distinct between these two is motion while touching. If I touch a picture that uses this plugin, followed by a swiping motion, the hover effect should not be triggered, because the intention of the user is to scroll. If I let go of the screen without having moved to scroll, then the hover effect should be triggered, because the attention of the user was not to scroll, but to interact with the picture.

Broken hovering on mobile. Using General Effects Type 01.
Here is how it should be. Touching a picture using this plugin without motion to scroll should trigger the hover effect. Touching the picture again, without motion to scroll, should undo the hover effect.
As things are now, to undo the hover effect you have activate the hover on another picture/element. When using larger pictures, this forces the user to constantly scroll around the page. Again, a terrible user experience.
Also, if you tap an element already in hover mode, it breaks the plugin even further. Then it is possible to have 2, sometimes even three elements in hover mode, with the only fix being to reload the page.

I’d like to add that I’ve tried to contact your support through your website multiple days ago, and have not received any reaction whatsoever. Please address these soon, as I’m a paying customer and somewhat bound by a deadline.

These issues have been observed using Firefox ESR on desktop, and Firefox mobile.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Sorry for the late reply,

As you mention those issues, I give basic settings for all while you can customize as like as you want also for mobile. https://youtu.be/SGHeoNPogbE?t=100 check there have several options for mobile as you can set properly. for example, each design comes with 300px width and 300px height, so if your browsers have limitation kindly change height 300px to 100%. I give multiple options for each setting. hope those settings will help you to redesign as like as you want.

YOu also mention that at mobile touch behaviour not works properly as you want. Kindly go into Image hover settings and set “Mobile Device Behaviour” as like as you want while most of the users like 1st tap for open and second tap for go link. that’s why I give this setting by default.
