Hello @damienpochon
Hope you’re doing well!
Since an image file is replaced, no data was updated in the database, so manually optimizing replaced image is not possible. As a workaround, please try the following:
– Go to Smush
– Add any changes in settings and update (Feel free to revert these back)
– Re-check images
Please see this screenshot:

This way images can be optimized from Bulk Smush again and manually; Re-Smush button will show up on a replaced image. Please see this screenshot:

Hope this helps!

Hi,
This did not work for me. The Resmush button did not appear. I’ve also cleared all caches and event tried with different browsers since I know Chrome’s cache can be a pain.
I’d like to avoid creating a new image each time…
Cheers,
Damien
Hello there @damienpochon
I’d like to avoid creating a new image each time…
Could you please elaborate a bit more on this?
I thought that this was about smushing an image that got replaced by above plugin anyway. So this is about a new image that also produces new thumbnails.
Could you please try to run this plugin:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails-advanced/
after an image replacement, then re-check files in Smush to see if it gets the new pending image.
Warm regards,
Dimitris
Hello there @damienpochon,
